Twisted Coagulation –
Extremely colourful
From 13 December 2025 to 17 January 2026, Galerie Door will host a
colourful exhibition in which artist Danni Schwaag focuses on the
material galalith and the “twisted” life of an artist.
The ingenious and refined wearable works of art by Danni Schwaag in
the exhibition Twisted Coagulation are the result of research into the
material galalith and into her own “being”. Galalith is a casein material
that is over 100 years old. Until the 1930s, galalith was widely used as a
cheaper substitute for precious stones. At the time, it was produced in
many different colours. Danni Schwaag has explored the limits of this
unusual synthetic material. Limits that she also encounters in her life as
an artist. Central to her work is the question of whether “twisted” thinking
is perhaps the most honest form of clarity. Because, as she reasons,
where something twists, tension arises. And a thought that wraps itself
around itself can lead to insight – or to a knot. And sometimes a knot is
not so bad; something can also get caught by it. Admire the twisted
constructions and beautiful knots in this colourful exhibition by Danni
Schwaag.
